Craziest Daily Drivers

Cars, for most people, are just a means of transportation that doesn’t need to be fancy or heavy on the bank but some people have the craziest daily drivers ever. But we all know that there are some who attach great importance to their daily rides and are ready to go to great lengths to ensure that their car standouts from the rest of the crowd even if it costs them a small fortune. Rare sports cars, as well as vintage cars, are a remarkable choice in this regard and statistics show that more & more enthusiasts are shelling out their money to buy and enjoy such exotic cars on a daily basis.

There’s a good chance that you already know some of the craziest cars out there, but here I have compiled a list of some of the most insane & ultra-rare vehicles that are sure to leave you stunned.

1. McLaren F1:

The McLaren F1 is the pride of the British sports car manufacturer but alas, its production run was limited to just 106 cars. The limited number combined with its superb performance & aesthetics makes the F1 a rare and crazy car to be driven regularly which is why Rowan Atkinson aka Mr. Bean’s F1 is included at the top of this list.

The fastest naturally aspirated car made to this day remained under the ownership of Atkinson for nearly two decades and during that time it underwent two crashes, which gives us a hint about how much the supercar was driven. Despite that, it fetched a price north of £8 million, which is a great price for a supercar that crashed twice.

2. Electric Hummer H1:

You might be surprised by “Electric Hummer H1” since traditional Hummers were only gas guzzlers and weren’t available in an electric version. It is only now that the GMC has unveiled Hummer EV, but Arnold Schwarzenegger had his electric Hummer way back in 2019 which he owns and drives to this day. The electric H1 was developed by the Austrian company Kreisel, which has also converted a Mercedes G500 to a fully electric version, and that too for Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The electric H1 retains an all-wheel-drive powertrain that combined with a power output of 483hp makes for a potent off-roading machine. The bright red all-electric Hummer H1 silently conquers all the terrains to this day and tries to shed the stigma of the Hummer brand name for being detrimental to the environment.

3. Ferrari 250 GTO:

The Ferrari 250 GTO unarguably won’t be a daily driver for anyone, but its class & prestige deserves its mention in this list. The 250 GTO is the most beautiful vintage car out there, that is sought after by almost every billionaire around the world. Only 39 units of the Legendry 250 GTO were ever produced, and it wasn’t long ago that a 250 GTO was sold for $44 million at an auction. Gregor Fisken, a former British race car driver and currently a supercar trader is now the owner of the world’s most expensive car that is bright blue and is the second unit of the 250 GTO that rolled out of Ferrari’s factory floor in 1962.

There is a good chance that you have only heard of the El Camino movie, a sequel to the Breaking Bad series, but you will be surprised to know that the movie is named after a popular Chevrolet pickup truck that was itself based on a station wagon platform. The cute and rather iconic pickup was produced from the sixties till the mid-late 80s and is currently a popular collector’s item.

Lady Gaga, a very popular and celebrated American singer & songwriter has got one El Camino in her garage which she frequently uses as a daily driver. The millionaire singer loves classic cars which is evident by her other two daily drivers namely the first-generation Ford F-150 Lightning and a specially restored 1967 Ford Bronco, that was auctioned off just a few years ago.

5. Rolls Royce Dawn:

Rolls Royce isn’t exactly the type of car to be driven on a daily basis but some of the rich folks don’t have any qualms driving a handmade Rolls Royce frequently. The Dawn is regarded as a special edition Royce that in addition to being a convertible is somewhat rare when compared to the Ghost & the Phantom. Millionaire property tycoon & investor Manny Khoshbin got the delivery of his Arctic white Dawn late last year and it continues to be his daily driver to this day. The color of his white Dawn is the brightest Rolls Royce has ever created and, to be honest, it looks quite appealing in conjunction with the spirit of Ecstasy & the overall super white interior of the car.

People are anxiously waiting for Tesla’s Cybertruck to this day, and many have even placed preorders for it. However, Simone Giertz got tired of waiting for a Tesla pickup truck and decided to carve out a pickup from a Model 3. The Swedish inventor well known for her work in the field of robotics made a pickup truck out of a Tesla Model 3 in collaboration with her friends which she calls Truckla. The name Truckla may sound a bit weird but a look at the Model 3 pickup is enough to leave anyone astounded as it looks like a factory-made pickup truck due to the level of precision with which the Model 3 was modified into a cute little pickup truck. The Truckla looks essentially like a modern version of El Camino and is currently serving as the daily driver of the remarkable Swedish inventor.

7. Smart Fortwo:

The Smart Fortwos are quirky little cars that despite being a subsidiary of Daimler AG (parent organization of Mercedes-Benz) have failed to become mainstream cars mainly because of their underwhelming acceleration and tiny size. However, these limitations didn’t stop Salomondrin from using a Smart Fortwo as a daily driver, even though the popular YouTuber & real estate investor has several luxury cars in his garage.

Although Smart cars are far from being classified as crazy cars, there are good reasons why the Smart Fortwo served as a daily driver for Salomondrin. The Fortwo as a whole is incredibly easy to drive in town and is feature-packed for a car of its class and size. Moreover, the running cost and the carbon footprint of the two-seater are incredibly low which to some extent coincides with Salomondrin’s goal of making all of his cars emissions-free.
